Rupert Grint…Check! Another Person Crossed of my List of People to Meet!

11 07 2009

I was at the Harry Potter Primeire last night and was lucky enough to snag an autograph from one of the actors! Rupert Grint who plays Ron Weasely was kind enough to come over to his fans and sign stuff! I didn’t actually get to go to the movie but I waited until after with about 200 other people for the actors to come out—unfortunetlyRupert was the only actor who came over to sign, everyone else headed for their brand new shiny Audi TDs–which run on Clean Diseal (is there such a thing…?) I mean I was disappointed. I only saw Daniel Radcliff from afar and Tom Felton was about 50 feet away—but when you had 242,863,146,190,347 screaming insane fans and 3 large body guards who I’m sure we’re former pro-wrestlers, 50 feet becomes more like 5 miles. Though I don’t blame the cast for leaving quicly I’m sure they were tired, but it would have still been nice if they had come over to sign a few autographs even if not for me. But hey thats hollywood whaddya gonna do?

I got a picture of this Signed--It is now a part of my collection of autographs (over 20 and growing!!!)

I got a picture of this Signed--It is now a part of my collection of autographs!

Now that I’ve crossed Rupert Grint off my “List of People to Meet in My Life” that leaves me with about 60 more to go…thats before I add anyone else…

Utada Hikaru Cancels US Tour!?

12 05 2009

Sadly you read that correctly. Utada Hikaru has cancelled her US tour due to Pertonsillitis–a more severe form of tonsillitis which she says she gets once or twice a year. Here is her message to her disappointed fans.I suppose a lot of you have heard already; I’ve had to cancel the instore events that were scheduled for this week.

The reason is, I’m sick. I came down with a case of “peritonsillitis”—it’s basically a more severe form of tonsillitis, in which the area around the tonsils get badly swollen as well.

This happens this to me once or twice a year, when I’m extremely tired and my immune system gets in bad shape.

I was in bed this past week, making daily trips to the hospital to get intravenous administration of hardcore medication, and now I’m near the end of the recovering stage, but the problem with this condition is that I have to be very careful until it is completely take care of, as it tends to easily come back.

It was decided that I’m in no shape to be traveling and working for a while.

I’m trying to rest as much as possible, relax a little and take it easy.

I apologize to my fans who were looking forward to the events, and to everyone involved with organizing these events.

I’m glad she’s recovering—her health is more important, make sure you send your “Get well vibes” her way. I did read somewhere in a previous statement that they said she looks forward to reschedualing her tour. Could this be a sign of hope? Who knows. Get well Utada!!!

Swine Flu? Swain Blu? Pan Flute?!

6 05 2009

Ok with all the news of Swin Flu (H1N1) swirling around us recently I figured it might be helpful if I put up some facts (fro the CDC website) to ease those of you who are freaking out. Like the title of this post (which is based off an inside joke between me and my friends), when news spreads, it general becomes contorted. For example the other day i was watching the news and they announced the amount of swine flu cases in my area–several hours later a friend of mine was telling me how this one school had to evacuate and shut down for a week because almost everyone was infected and was leaving their classrooms vomiting. Pretty sight that would be. So ya here are some facts and how to prevent catching it. I look at it this way. I hardly ever get sick, yet as I type this I have a sore throat (Swine flu!?) But don’t freak out if you end up getting it because the chances of you dying (in my mind) are the same as if you got the regular flu. People who unfortunately die  from the flu are either very young or very old, and while it’s odd for Swine Flu to target middle aged kids/adults, they haven’t been dying. but don’t take my word because it’s not scientifically proven (^_^)

Are there human infections with this H1N1 virus in the U.S.?
Yes. Cases of human infection with this H1N1 influenza virus were first confirmed in the U.S. in Southern California and near Guadalupe County, Texas. The outbreak intensified rapidly from that time and more and more states have been reporting cases of illness from this virus. An updated case count of confirmed novel H1N1 flu infections in the United States is kept at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/investigation.htm. CDC and local and state health agencies are working together to investigate this situation.

Is this new H1N1 virus contagious?
CDC has determined that this new H1N1 virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it is not known how easily the virus spreads between people.

What are the signs and symptoms of this virus in people?
The symptoms of this new H1N1 flu virus in people are similar to the symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting.  Also, like seasonal flu, severe illnesses and death has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

How severe is illness associated with this new H1N1 virus?
It’s not known at this time how severe this virus will be in the general population. CDC is studying the medical histories of people who have been infected with this virus to determine whether some people may be at greater risk from infection, serious illness or hospitalization from the virus. In seasonal flu, there are certain people that are at higher risk of serious flu-related complications. This includes people 65 years and older, children younger than five years old, pregnant women, and people of any age with chronic medical conditions. It’s unknown at this time whether certain groups of people are at greater risk of serious flu-related complications from infection with this new virus. CDC also is conducting laboratory studies to see if certain people might have natural immunity to this virus, depending on their age.

How does this new H1N1 virus spread?
Spread of this H1N1 virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing by people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

How long can an infected person spread this virus to others?
At the current time, CDC believes that this virus has the same properties in terms of spread as seasonal flu viruses. With seasonal flu, studies have shown that people may be contagious from one day before they develop symptoms to up to 7 days after they get sick.  Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods. CDC is studying the virus and its capabilities to try to learn more and will provide more information as it becomes available.

If we are to assume the worst, I think Walt Disney and Robin Williams are to blame for this

Pirates Picked the Wrong People to Mess with

4 05 2009

Today a group of 11 pirates targeted a ship to attack. They charged at the supposed commercial ship with great speed and with the intent to take it over. Well turns out it was actually a French Navy ship. There are just some people in the world that you don’t mess with, and the French are one of them. The 11 pirates were captured and a French Navy helicopter assisted i rounding up the rest. Ok seriously these pirate attacks are getting a little old. Like every other news heading is now includes either “Pirates” or “Somalia”. I mean I agree with those who think that we should just arm the sailors on these ships. I mean you have pirates in speed boats with RPGs and automatic rifiles taking on sailors with what? A crow bar and a hose? Jeez that’ll be a fight to see. I do commend those, especially that captain who saved his crew, and I feel that they should be well armed to take on these situations seeing as how there has been a spike recently. The next headline reguarding pirates better have “Jack Sparrow” somewhere in it or else these pirates are gonna really make me mad. I mean heres and idea, while it might plunge the world into world war III it could work. Just go over to an area where the pirates mainly attack and drop a very large bomb—this is not intended to killt hem but rather to scare them, as well as cause a giant wave that washes them away back to the coast. While this would never work it’s fun to think about.

These pirates have a long way to go before the reach "Jack Sparrow" Status...

Utada Hikaru Plans US Autograph Tour!!!

4 05 2009

Oh my god. Utada Hikaru. New York City. Autograph.

Once I read those 3 phrases I flipped out!!! She’s gonna be in NYC and several other places in America promoting her new English Album “This is the One”. My favorite songs (from what I have heard) are “Apple and Cinnamon” and “Come Back to Me”. I’ve been praying that I would some day be able to meet her, because she too is on my “List of people to meet in my life”. Oh this list does exist by the way. Seeing as how i keep referencing it I should let you know it’s real. But ya she’ll be at the Best Buy on 44th street and 5th ave. on May 12th at 7pm. I recently saw pictures of when she did her very brife tour at 3 Sephora cosmetic stores in NYC and several other locations. My god. Every Asian-American person in NYC must have been pushed up against the glass of the store just to see her! She really is that popular. In Japan she’s known as “Japan’s Greatest Singer”. Her hit songs “Hikari” and “Passion” are most familiar to gamers and anyone whoes played Kingdom Hearts I & II.

Her new CD will be $9.99 at Best Buy and will include 3 bonus tracks: Simple and Clean, Sanctuary (Intro), and Sanctuary (After the Battle)

Obama’s first 100 Days! (^_^)

4 05 2009
Yahoo! We made it! We still have 1360 more days until his re-election!

Yahoo! We made it! We still have 1360 more days until his re-election!

Well we’ve finally made it. Obama’s first 100 days. As my friendput it to me in a text message this weekend, “50 years ago they said  black man would be president when pigs fly–and look 100 days later swine flu!!!”. Now of course my friend was just kidding as we’re both liberals (and proud of it!). I would have to say for the most part I think Obama’s doing a pretty good job. He’s really showing that he means to get down to business. He’s been making it known that he wants to get America back on track and put aside the past conflicts and move to a brighter future. Now there are some things that I don’t totally agree on, such as the giant economic packages he’s passing–though I mean I’m not completely against it. I think we’ll need money to jump start our economy but I don’t think we should throw out hundreds of billions. Though I think with him we have a good chance at seeing free health care and other perks that much of the majors nations in our world have. I recently sent a letter to the white house because Obama’s on my list of people to meet in my life. Hopefully I’ll get a response, and if I don’t I’ll just send another letter (^_^). Well I wanna know what you all think of Obama’s first 100 days. Remember keep it clean!

The NEW Daily Pessimist

4 05 2009

Hey guys, its been a while since I last updated…actually almost a year to be exact. I kinda got bored with the whole blogging thing. But then last night i decided to read my old posts and found myself laughing, so I decided I should try this one more time. My next few posts will be about Obama’s first 100 days. Feel free to comment but make sure you keep it clean. I don’t care if you agree or disagree but everyone deserves respect.

Halloween Came Early…Bigfoot is Big-Faux

19 08 2008

Well well well….turns out that the Bigfoot the two men in Georgia found is nothing more than a $450 costume…like I’m in a way speechless not because I’m  surprised it was fake but more of the fact that it took this long to figure it out. they were probably debating more about which store the actual costume came from before they released information, or better yet what type of plastic. Like it’s pretty sad that these guys would go through all this work for a hoax, though it was a good one, its a waste of time. Besides promoting their website, they haven’t accomplished much, and seeing as how its a hoax I doubt people will go to their website. People like them in my opinion are like bratty children. They look for attention and make a fuss about stuff, and while in the end they get what they want it always isn’t what they wanted. I’ll post a few links down below to sites that covered this news, now time to get back to my vacation…can’t believe I took time out of it to cover these fakers…now not only can’t we trust Canadians but Georgian Hunters too…I personally didn’t trust them to begin with so…

Michael Phelps Wins his 8th Gold Medal!!!

17 08 2008

Holy cracker jacks. I just witnessed history! Michael Phelps has just broken the record and won his 8th gold medal. Seriously, I was sitting on the edge of my seat. I know nothing about swimming or much about sports but oh my god that was truly amazing. The man is like a dolphin or something! Are they sure he doesn’t have webbed feet??? I along with probably most of the world are in disbelief. His face when he saw he won was priceless as I’m sure mine would if I had just accomplished such a feat. His single mother, was seen in the crowd with shock and disbelief as well. I tip my hat off to you Michael as does the rest of the world. You deserve it. Now what happens when people tell you to go for the gold? You can simply tell them you already did (^_^) Michael Phelps you are officially on my “List of People to Meet in my Life”. God Bless you and congrats!
